Honorary Selection

Cannon Building  rotunda

Washington DC

As we see here, John was very much in tune with the community, participating in shows as well as exhibits and local forums, contributing his works proudly throughout the northern regions of Minnesota and on up into Canada.

And this is but one side of John as he was... paying tribute to the men he served with. Another one of his... many canvassed expressions, inevitably serving as a reminder to everyone who views it... Let's not forget some of our guys who are still over there.

'Hunters in the Valley' 1982 glazed oil on stretched canvas 36" X 27" was completed the same year Jack graduated from BSU with honors. By now, he is well accomplished in depicting scenes associated with a number of aspects in aviation. The thoughtful combination of these various shades of green speak to the artist's sense of camouflage compelling the viewer to peer ever closer to the image revealing the convoy in the distance. Often times there are occasions where, upon initially viewing this piece, people have commented that they did not notice the first F-4 in the foreground.

Of course an effect intended by the artist.

The original is available for viewing or display upon request.
