'Shadow on the Valley Glazed Original 36"x 24"

"Shadow on the Valley' is one of my personal favorites as well as one of my most prized possessions. I can almost hear the ominous sounds of the helicopter blades coming over the rice patties. Who knows, maybe I can hear the Vaugner too.  For me, the way the light penetrates through dark clouds overhead, the shadow cast onto the landscape...a fog hoovers low in the distance as it climbs, eventually broken up by the rising sun almost directly overhead.

It appears to me that John was experimenting with a technique known as 'Chiaroscuro" if I'm not mistaken. The effect was originally introduced by Leonardo DeVinci. What do you think?

The original oil glaze is on 36 "X 24" stretched canvas and is available for viewing upon request. Also, I am proud to offer this piece, available in 22" X 17" limited edition prints* of only 475 signed  and numbered by the artist; John Simonis. I have only sixteen of these left in my possession. When these are gone, there can never be anymore like these.

Currently listing these for 375.00$$ shipping included, Professionally framed **starting at 450.00 $$ shipping included.

For the Serious Collector.

A photo of John while deployed in South East Asia, still a very young man at that time, traveling the world and seeing things he would apply to canvas in future years to come. As we see here, the artist recollects an ominous scene of the air cavalry in flight
