John served in the U.S. Air force retiring after 23 years of distinguished service. He then Attended Bemidji State University under the G.I. Bill graduating as that university’s first Bachelor of Fine Arts / Magna Kum Laude.

He has painted over two hundred and fifty pieces worldwide and had completed a number of pieces exclusively for private collectors. His work could be found at the Bemidji International Airport, along with many other local collectors in the northern regions of the upper mid-west. John has also worked with the American Legion and as I recollect, a particular project with the City of Bemidji in cooperation with Coke of Cola. The results of that endeavor are stored in my archives and will be displayed as this Gallery as his legacy may progress. I can remember how he would feel so honored that someone had asked him to paint something, he would be proud to be of service that he would spend hour after hour standing there about six inches away from the canvas intently applying minute strokes.

Today, more and more of his work is introduced into circulation in the form of limited edition prints as well as a few originals.

John Passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on his 77th birthday; November 13th 2013.
