'Paul & Babe Enjoy Coke' is a Glazed oil Original completed in 1989 by John as part of a series of historic locations around the community of Bemidji Minnesota.  The historic roadside attraction had been granted a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 and this piece celebrates that honorable recognition.  According to Kodak these statues are second only to Mount Rushmore as being the most photographed in America and have cameos in a number of Hollywood productions including films like 'Vacation' and 'Fargo'. As it turns out, a simple twelve pack would never be enough for these two giants so we brought in the truck.

Last I checked, the original is still with the Coca-Cola distributor in Bemidji. 

 After John had passed in 2013 It was a few years later that, during the gallery's first show  many had expressed an interest in this piece.
